Therefore, dietary education for lifelong health is important, and the role of dietitians is growing. There are large individual differences in the amount of healthy dietary knowledge that older adults possess. We investigated when is the best time for a dietitian to teach dietary knowledge, and what to teach. The results of the survey showed that the best time for instruction was until the end of compulsory education. The percentage of students eating a balanced diet at home correlated with the incidence of metabolic syndrome in the area of residence. The information from the older adults was that good communication, correct information, and opportunities for discussion would improve health literacy.
