The subjects were 10 right-handed men and women. As a result of multiple corrections, the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, right posterior insular cortical region, right angular gyrus, and right supplementary motor area were significantly activated when performing the rock-paper-scissors game with the non-dominant toes compared to the game with the dominant toes. These areas are thought to work together when performing a motor task involving high cognitive conflict with the non-dominant toes. This suggests that even if either side of the brain is damaged, movements involving motor tasks or cognitive tasks become difficult. In other words, if the left anterior cerebral artery region is damaged, movements involving motor tasks or cognitive tasks including the left lower limb become difficult, and if the right middle cerebral artery region is damaged, movements involving motor tasks or cognitive tasks including the left lower limb become difficult.
