We interviewed the family member (caregiver) focusing on (1) reasons for having selected to provide home care, (2) actual experience of the home care, and (3) ideas for home care and end-of-life care. The data from the interview were inductively and descriptively analyzed, and differentiated into seven categories. The decision to choose home care arose after listening to repeatedly expressed\nwishes from the elder sister“ to stay home.” The eldest daughter of the sister recommended hospitalization. However, considering the mother’s wish, the daughter agreed to provide care at the home of the younger sister. The change in thinking about home care arose with worries and unease of the caregiver when the patient became bedridden, leading to doubts about continuing home care. The caregiver continued to provide home care as she felt unable to ask her elder sister to“ be hospitalized” because she is a family member who knows the wishes and character of the elder sister. This is the process that made the caregiver continue the home care.
